Household
Matters: A Good Life 'Round the Clock
Complete Description
Integrating
Person-First Values, Systems Design, and Workforce Development as
a Methodology to Initiate and Sustain Culture Change in Long Term
Care
Through funding of the Commonwealth Fund, Sunflower Foundation and
the Kansas Department on Aging, Meadowlark Hills has created an
integrated toolbox of materials and systems for use by long-term
care providers (and others) with a stake in transforming the culture
of nursing homes in a sustainable fashion. Taken together, the toolbox's
components would provide an explicit roadmap for how an organization
could shape itself to become a resident directed service model with
a well trained, empowered, and satisfied workforce. This packaged
tool box will not only assist in assuring culture-change sustainability,
but will also be a vehicle for increasing the rate of culture-change
penetration in the long-term care community.

Testimonial:
"Pennybyrn
at Maryfield is in the process of transforming our traditional
nursing home into households both culturally and through a major
renovation. We have had the opportunity to learn from and be
guided and assisted by Action Pact, Inc. and Meadowlark Hills
as we have developed our household model. We received tremendous
value based on their wealth of experience in this area. To have
this experience and knowledge offered in the Toolkit is truly
exciting. |
We
have had the opportunity to preview the Household Matters Toolkit
in detail and it contains a wealth of knowledge that will be invaluable
to us as we continue our journey. We are extremely excited about
the opportunity to fully utilize the Toolkit as we
move forward to continue to grow leadership throughout our organization,
formalize policies and procedures, and implement human resource
systems in support of our major transformation." --Rich Newman,
